After nearly two weeks of nothing but dense fog,  there was sunshine and blue sky.   Since I was already going to be late for work, why not pull out my camera and take a picture of my street.  It would have been a good day to call in sick.

On the way home, a walk through the park was definitely in order!

Who could resist the warm riches of the season?

These pictures were taken just before a rather strong windstorm we had recently.  The colors of the leaves seem quite intense this autumn.
It all seemed so much brighter for having been shrouded in fog for so long.  Lots of folks were out enjoying the crisp and sunny October day.

Swimming in the lake of fire?

If only winter's nakedness were not so close.  Perhaps their fleeting nature makes summer and autumn even more dear.

Here's Hydrangea quercifolia dressed in red for the season.
I hope you are enjoying the charms of autumn!
