In a Vase on Monday

Looks like we're going to make it as the vernal equinox is only a few days away.  Fragrances of late winter blooms fill the garden and the magic of  earth's rebirth is afoot!  We've had gale-force winds, pounding rain, hail, and a few minutes of sun for the last couple of days.  Actually, that pretty much sums up the weather we've had since March came roaring in like a lion.  Still blooms abound, spring garden chores become legion, and gardeners venture outside once more.

I had plans for a blue and gold arrangement and found this glued-together goblet to use as a vase.

Blue hyacinths were begging to come inside and perfume the kitchen and I was going to pair them with daffodils but then saw Kerria japonica 'Pleniflora' in bloom and decided to use them instead. Not being able to simply use the two colors, I grabbed a chunk of Helleborus argutifolius and trrew in a mauve hellebore from last week's arrangement.

The glass spheres represent the magic of spring arriving in the northern hemisphere.
