Tacoma's Ruston Way has a delightful bayside walk punctuated with pocket parks, historical markers, and fabulous restaurants, some of which are actually atop pilings in the water. Once one actually gets to the town of Ruston, former home of the Asarco copper smelter, he/she finds the many new condo and apartment buildings atop the land formerly occupied by the smelter. One of them even has a Cinemark theatre with reclining seats with cup holders. Zowie. Anyway, it's a great place to walk and enjoy Commencement bay, the inlet of Puget Sound beside which Tacoma is located. I'd mostly walked here at night but one day I went before it got dark. I had no idea that when I turned around to head back this view would be there. Picture quality isn't great as I only had my phone with me.
Getting darker with alpenglow on Mt. Rainier. Sometimes I forget how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world!
