It started this summer during the annual giant timber bamboo grove control project. Some of the culms came out of the ground with cool roots and reminded me of the carvings that some people do with these. The vase was a fifty cent thrift store find. The rest was stuff that I found around the house.
One sometimes that, even if she cannot seem to do anything with her hair, a nice pair of earrings really pulls a look together. Throw in a jaunty scarf and subtle little frock and voila.
It would be unkind to mention her lighter colored roots; she was going for a frosted highlights sort of thing to cover the gray. This is what can happen if one tries this sort of difficult hair technique at home. The spinning gourd was a gift from Danger upon the occasion of her recent visit to my dreadfully declining garden. The Physalis alkekengi seed pods are from my garden.
